1% for the Forest

“When I thought of a name for this business, Quercus – meaning ‘oak’ in Latin – immediately came to my mind. But I wanted to go further than a tree as name and a greenish logo… No matter how small your company is, you can make an impact! Here’s what Quercus has been doing since the first day.”

Every email we send or receive, every article we read, every file we up- or download carries its footprint. So does every search query. Searching the web is part of our daily work. But we try to do it in the most sustainable way.

Using Ecosia as our default search engine allows us to fund tree planting while doing our work. In a decade, this German B Corp® has planted over 118 million trees worldwide thanks to the search queries of its users.

EcoTree is at the heart of Quercus’ sustainable commitment. In 2020 and 2021, 1% of our annual revenue went to sustainable forest management and biodiversity preservation projects led by EcoTree, a French startup and certified B Corp®.

Since its creation, Quercus has funded the sustainable management of more than 120 trees of various species all over France, as well as the rehabilitation of 1,500 sqm of wetland.

Logo 1% for the Planet

From the very first day of existence, we have been reinvesting part of our turnover into the forest. In 2022, we took a step further by joining 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses, individuals and NGOs committed to tackling our planet's most pressing environmental issues.

As such, Quercus donates at least 1% of its annual revenu to NGOs aiming to preserve the environment. Forest protection remains at the heart of our commitments. Here is the complete list of approved partner organisations.
